Today, I finally received the propellers I ordered a while back, as the extra ones I had weren’t exactly what I needed. When I first got the Mobula 6, I read that it was a good idea to get some extra props, so I ordered a few. However, I didn’t fully understand the numbers and ended up getting 1219s instead of 1208s. The 1219s are for the older Mobula 6 model, while the 1208s are for the 2024 version.
I had to use the 1219s, and they felt much more aggressive—very noisy and jittery compared to the 1208s.
After replacing them with the correct 1208 propellers, I went out for a flight, but I foolishly didn’t check if the motor wires were properly tucked away. As soon as I armed the drone and tried to take off, it flew sideways and flipped. After a quick inspection, I saw that one of the motor wires had disconnected—it had gotten in the way of the propeller.
Fixing it wasn’t too difficult. I unscrewed the motor, pushed back the rubber sleeve, and soldered the wire back (I had to shorten it by 2 mm and re-expose the tip).
This whole process has been a learning experience—every day I encounter something new. It feels like a “zero to one” journey: everything is fresh, everything is exciting, and I find it all so immersive and fun. Zero to one. 021.
